MEET YOUR WILLS & ESTATES AND FAMILY LAWYER IN ROCKINGHAM & Jurien Bay, Western Australia

I started Saltwater Legal
because people deserve better.

Straightforward legal advice delivered personally with no gatekeepers,
runaround or wondering where things stand.

Three people sitting around a table outside of a camper, with drinks and food, under a large canopy, with a stone wall, trees, and blue sky in the background.

I built this firm
for one reason.

After years working inside other law firms, I kept seeing the same thing… Good people spending real money and receiving poor service in return. Ignored calls, weeks without updates, clients left in the dark about their own matters, you name it.

I didn't want to move to another firm and face the same problems again. I wanted to do things differently. So I did.

Saltwater Legal exists to give people the level of service they actually deserve.

Clear advice, direct access, and a lawyer who treats every matter like it matters…

Because it does.

Why Wills & Estates, and Family and Property Law?

My background is Property Law, Wills & Estates. I understand the processes involved in transferring property, whether through sale, separation, or deceased estate, and the tax and legal implications that come with them.

That grounding in property law is what shapes how I approach family law. I focus specifically on property and financial settlement within family law, not parenting matters, because it's where my expertise runs deepest, and where I can genuinely make a difference for clients.

How I work

From the moment you get in touch, you deal with me directly. Not a receptionist or a junior lawyer, just your lawyer, across every detail of your matter from start to finish. Yes, really…

I listen carefully, not just to what you're telling me, but to what you might not be saying.
I ask questions, because understanding your situation clearly is the only way to give you advice that actually means something.

I don't speak in legalese. I use plain English and real-world examples to make sure you understand your options and what each one means for you. If I'm referencing a legal concept, I'll give you context, like a real case or practical scenario, so it lands.

I'm direct and I'm proactive. I give clients a clear picture of next steps, realistic timeframes, and regular updates, even when nothing has changed.

With Saltwater Legal, you will never be left wondering where things stand.

Michelle Henderson

Solicitor & Director, Saltwater Legal

I'm originally from New Zealand and moved to Rockingham in 2011. I've spent the past 12 years living and working in this community, and for the past three years, I've been making the fortnightly drive to Jurien Bay to provide legal services locally, because people there shouldn't have to travel 200km to the city for a lawyer.

I graduated from Murdoch University with a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts in Australian Indigenous Studies, followed by a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice. My background spans wills and estates, property law, and family law, with a particular focus on property settlement matters involving complex assets including superannuation and cryptocurrency.

Outside of the office, you'll find me close to the water, which, given where I've chosen to build this practice, feels about right.

Most people wait too long. A 30 min consultation costs nothing but changes everything.
